Meshfree methods such as smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) with kernel corrections, radial basis function-generated finite differences (RBF-FD), and the local anisotropic basis function method (LABFM) construct discrete differential operators by imposing polynomial consistency on a local stencil.
