Meta's AI-Assisted Layoff Process Allegedly Disproportionately Selected Employees on Protected Leave

AI Incident Database · article · Jul 14, 2026 · UTC

Meta allegedly used internal AI-assisted evaluation and monitoring systems, including Metamate and employee activity metrics, to help rank and select workers for a May 2026 reduction in force.
