COpernicus Marine services with Enhanced Data assimilation and improved Interoperability

rnicus Marine forecasting centres to modernise and harmonise our data assimilation practices. COMEDI will enhance the data assimilation software with innovations such as multiscale, non-Gaussian, and Artificial Intelligence approaches to stay at the research forefront. COMEDI will also unlock the potential to assimilate new types of observations, including Sentinel-3 reflectance data, Sentinel-3 Next Generation wide-swath altimeter data, and brightness temperatures from Copernicus Imaging Microwave Radiometer. COMEDI will develop shared tools and diagnostic protocols, increasing the exchange of research innovations and enabling the systematic evaluation of new methods’ impact across global and regional seas.
