Agentic Reasoning for the Generative AI-Enabled Cognitive Continuum ARGENTIC is a European project that develops a sovereign, trustworthy, and energy-aware ecosystem for agentic AI across the Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum. The project addresses fragmentation in today's AI deployments by delivering a modular reference architecture, SDK, and edge-optimised AI models that ensure workload portability, interoperability, and alignment with EU priorities for sovereignty and trust. ARGENTIC aims to empower autonomous yet human-aligned AI agents that operate across distributed infrastructures while guaranteeing explainability, compliance with the AI Act and GDPR, and measurable reductions in energy consumption compared to cloud-centric baselines.
