European AI Commons – Shaping AI for the Creative and Cultural Industries Artificial intelligence has become a defining force in Europe, shaping economies, culture, and public debate while testing the Union’s commitment to democracy, diversity, sustainability, and competitiveness. In the cultural field, AI arrives with hype and anxiety. Europe’s CCI lack trusted rights-aware tools and evidence to guide adoption. Artists, industry, policymakers and higher arts education face opaque systems, legal uncertainty, mediocre quality and market concentration. This proposal responds with European-by-design AI Commons serving creative practice and public value.
